| Q2: Are pre-existing conditions covered by the CoverAmerica-Gold plan? Pre-existing conditions are typically not covered by travel insurance. However, the CoverAmerica-Gold plan covers acute onset of pre-existing conditions for those up to 79 years old, starting 7 days after coverage begins. Coverage amounts vary by age. This benefit does not include coverage for known, scheduled, required, or expected medical care, drugs or treatments existent or necessary prior to arrival in the United States and prior to the effective date of coverage.
Acute onset means a sudden, unexpected recurrence that requires urgent care and happens after the policy starts. Treatment must be sought within 24 hours. Ongoing or congenital conditions and changes in treatment 30 days prior are not covered. Coverage is unavailable for those over age 79. Please review the Description of Coverage for more details. |

Please review the policy documents for more benefit details and conditions. |

Typically, it can cost $5 a day for a person 50 years of age, when selecting coverage area or destination of travel as the USA. |
| Q9: Why CoverAmerica-Gold is unique, and best among all other similar policies? A typical travel medical insurance policy will cover medical emergencies, but the best policy would also offer comprehensive coverage for COVID-19. This means the insurance company will not only assist if you get sick but also reimburse you for delays, quarantines (enforced stays), or missed departures (missed connection). CoverAmerica-Gold provides all this and more. It is a true international travel medical insurance policy, offering much more than just basic COVID-19 coverage—it is a true Gold standard. |
