| Q1: Am I eligible for the VisitorSecure plan? If you are a non-United States citizen traveling to the U.S. for business, or pleasure, or you are a U.S resident traveling abroad, you are eligible for this plan. Green card holders visiting the U.S are ineligible for this plan. Your plan must become effective within 3 months of your arrival in the United States. The minimum coverage period is 5 days and the maximum coverage period is 364 days. For individuals coming to the U.S. who are over age 65, coverage must be effective within 30 days of arrival |
| Q2: Does this plan cover pre-existing conditions? VisitorSecure does not cover pre-existing conditions. It, however, does cover for an acute onset of pre-existing conditions for people up to age 70, up to the policy maximum that you choose. The acute onset of pre-existing condition coverage once in a policy period. Also, all the limited benefits amounts for each service and treatment for the VisitorSecure policy would apply to an acute onset of pre-existing condition situation. Acute onset of a pre-existing condition is defined as: An Acute Onset of a Pre-existing Condition is a sudden and unexpected outbreak or recurrence of a Pre-existing Condition that occurs spontaneously and without advance warning either in the form of Physician recommendations or symptoms. Treatment must be obtained within 24 hours of the sudden and unexpected outbreak or recurrence. A Pre-existing Condition that is a chronic or congenital condition or that gradually becomes worse over time will not be considered Acute Onset. This benefit does not include coverage for known, scheduled, required, or expected medical care, drugs, or Treatments existent or necessary before the Effective Date of coverage. Please Note: Coverage for acute onset of a pre-existing condition is excluded when the pre-existing condition is a congenital or chronic condition. For more details & exclusions regarding the pre-existing conditions, please check the VisitorSecure plan brochure. |
| Q3: Which doctor or hospital can I go to? VisitorSecure Insurance is a limited coverage plan and does not participate in any PPO Network. You can go to any doctor, hospital or provider of your choice. |
| Q4: What does the VisitorSecure plan cover, and why is it significantly cheaper compared to comprehensive plans?
|
| Q5: The plan says that the deductible is per incident, injury, or sickness. Does this mean I have to pay the deductible each time I visit a doctor or hospital? |
| Q6: How do I file a claim? Please refer to the following article concerning the claim process: |
| Q7: How much does VisitorSecure cost? The cost of VisitorSecure varies based on several qualifying criteria, such as traveler’s age, duration or length of trip, and selected coverage benefit limits. Typically, VisitorSecure can cost $2 a day for the duration of the trip for a person 50 years of age selecting International travel coverage area that does not include USA . For coverage including the USA, the cost can be higher. |
| Q8: When will I receive my ID card?
|
| Q9: Where can I find claim information? The claim process is mandatory for travel insurance. Even if providers directly bill the insurance company, it is important to understand and follow the claim process accordingly. Please refer to the following article for more information: Visitor Insurance Claim Process |
| Q10: How do I use this insurance? Please refer to the following article about the policy usage: how to use Visitor Insurance? |
| Q11: Why are there state restrictions, and how will it affect me if I visit those states? Each insurance company may have state-specific regulations on where their plans can be sold, affecting only residents of those states. However, if you are traveling to the United States, you will be covered in all 50 states during your active policy period |
| Q12: Can I extend the VisitorSecure plan?
|
| Q13: Can I cancel the VisitorSecure plan?
|
| Q14: Can I cancel only one person from the policy? You cannot remove one person from the policy if other travelers are included. We recommend letting the current policy lapse with all travelers or canceling and repurchasing for the remaining travelers as per the policy terms. |
| Q15: What information do I need to purchase this insurance? You will need full name(s), coverage duration, date(s) of birth, home country address, and a valid credit card. |
| Q16: If I travel to multiple countries, will I be covered? Coverage will be provided in all eligible countries, except your Home Country and any restricted countries listed in the policy. Coverage is valid only within the policy dates. Note: If any part of your trip includes the United States, please select it as your destination country. |
| Q17: Does VisitorSecure cover coronavirus? VisitorSecure can cover for COVID-19 and will be treated the same as any other eligible medical condition so long as the virus is contracted after the policy effective date and you have departed from the country of residence. For more in-depth information regarding the impact of the coronavirus on travel insurance, please go to our information hub. |
| Q18: Is there a waiting period for coverage to begin on my travel medical plan? Coverage begins on the selected date once the policyholder leaves their home country and only covers conditions occurring after this date. |
| Q19: Why do my policy documents only list one destination country? Only the primary destination will be listed on the policy documents, but all eligible countries will still be covered during the policy period. |
| Q20: When does my coverage start and end on my travel medical insurance plan? The travel medical insurance plan starts coverage on the date of departure (12:01 am EST) and once the traveler leaves their home country. Coverage applies worldwide outside the home country as long as the policy is active. Coverage ends immediately upon re-entry into the home country and at 11:59 pm EST on the last coverage date. |
| Q21: Will my VisitorSecure plan be extended/renewed automatically? The VisitorSecure plan does not renew automatically. If you need additional coverage days, please log into your account to request an extension or renewal before the policy expiration date. Not all plans can be extended or renewed, so please check your policy terms and conditions for eligibility. |
| Q22: Does the VisitorSecure plan cover for the coronavirus vaccine/boosters? The VisitorSecure plan does not cover for the COVID-19 vaccine/booster, but will cover COVID-19 treatment and services the same as any other eligible condition if contracted after the policy effective date. Preventative care related to COVID-19, like vaccines/boosters is not covered under the policy. Please sign in to your account to view your plan specific documents for any limits or exclusions. |
| Q23: Does the VisitorSecure plan cover for coronavirus testing? VisitorSecure will only cover for COVID-19 testing if the policyholder is experiencing symptoms and the test is ordered by an attending physician for diagnostic purposes. COVID-19 tests to meet travel requirements will not be covered. |
| Q24: Does the VisitorSecure plan provide quarantine coverage? The VisitorSecure plan does not offer a quarantine indemnity. Please review the policy documents for limits and exclusions. |
| Q25: I want to purchase insurance for multiple visitors. Should I purchase separate policies for each traveler, or can I include everyone on one policy?
|
| Q26: How does the Deductible Work? For the VisitorSecure plan, it is better to choose the lowest deductible available. The deductible is per/incident type, which means, you would be responsible for separate deductibles, for every unrelated sickness or injury. The limited plans pay a fixed dollar amount for every service or treatment. Also, the deductible is applied to these fixed benefit amounts, and not the amount that the doctor’s charge. For example: You choose a $50,000 policy maximum, with a $50 deductible, and you need a doctor’s consolation. You can see in the Schedule of Benefits that the insurance would pay $60 for a doctor’s visit. Now the deductible of $50 would apply to the fixed benefit amounts. So, in this case, the plan would pay ($60-$50) = $10 towards your doctor’s visit. Whatever amount the doctor might charge, the insurance would pay only $10. If you go back again for the same situation for another consultation, then the plan would pay $60. |
| Q27: Do I have to pay upfront, or are the doctors going to bill the insurance company directly? The billing process is the discretion of the providers. Depending on the billing practice of the service provider, they may directly bill the insurance company or may ask you to pay up front and get reimbursed from the insurance company. Claim process would be mandatory, whether you have to pay upfront, or the providers directly bill the insurance company. |
| Q28: Why do corrections take 3-5 business days? The insurance provider recommends submitting correction requests in writing, as your policy is a legally enforceable document. Once received, we forward the request to the provider, who will process requests in the order they are received. It typically take 3-5 business days, for the correction to be completed. To avoid errors and corrections, please double-check your application before purchasing. |
| Q29: Where can I find answers to other questions I have? Learn more from informative articles at Visitor Insurance Information section. |
| Q30: Who is the plan administrator for VisitorSecure? VisitorSecure is administrated by WorldTrips. Visit WorldTrips's plan provider page for more information. |
| Q31: Does VisitorSecure cover Monkeypox? VisitorSecure can cover Monkeypox and will treat it the same as any other eligible medical condition so long as the virus is contracted after the policy effective date and you have departed your home country. For more information regarding Monkeypox and travel insurance, review the blog about Monkeypox. |
| Q32: Does VisitorSecure cover for the Monkeypox vaccine? The VisitorSecure plan does not cover for the Monkeypox vaccine, but will cover Monkeypox treatment and services the same as any other eligible condition if the virus was contracted after the policy effective date. Preventative care related to Monkeypox is not covered under the policy. Please sign in to your account to view your plan specific documents for any limits or exclusions. |
| Q33: My credit card expired how do I receive my refund? To update your payment details for a refund during cancellation, contact the insurance administrator at 800-605-2282 if your original payment method is invalid. |
