Atlas International is an A rated comprehensive Travel Medical insurance plan that provides medical coverage and other covered travel and emergency services for a traveler's temporary stay outside of their home country. The coverage duration is available from 5 days to 365 days. After the deductible is satisfied, the plan will pay 100% of eligible medical expenses up to the policy maximum. | Q1: Am I eligible for the Atlas International plan? The Atlas International plan is available for: |
| Q2: Are pre-existing conditions covered? Pre-existing conditions are not covered by Atlas International plan. However, the Atlas International plan covers up to the policy maximum for acute onset of pre-existing conditions in people up to 79 years of age. An acute onset of a pre-existing condition is defined as: A sudden and unexpected outbreak or recurrence of a Pre-existing Condition which occurs spontaneously and without advance warning either in the form of Physician recommendations or symptoms. Chronic or congenital conditions or pre-existing conditions that gradually become worse over time will not be considered acute onset. A Pre-existing condition is defined as an Injury, illness, sickness, disease, or other physical, medical, mental, or nervous conditions, disorder or ailment (whether known or unknown) that, with reasonable medical certainty, existed at the time of application or within the 2 years immediately preceding the certificate effective date. Please check the Description of Coverage for more information about what is considered as acute onset of pre-existing condition. |
| Q3: What is an acute onset of pre-existing condition? An acute onset is a sudden unexpected outbreak or recurrence of a Pre-existing Condition which occurs spontaneously and without advance warning either in the form of Physician recommendations or symptoms, is of short duration. It has to be an acute medical condition that requires immediate medical attention. More conditions and restrictions apply. | Q4: Which doctor or hospital can I go to? You can go to any doctor or hospital of your choice and be covered 100% for eligible medical expenses. |
| Q5: What if I am traveling to multiple countries, will I be covered? Coverage will be provided in all eligible countries visited with the exception of your Home Country and any restricted countries listed in the policy documentation. Coverage will only be offered within the policy start and end dates. Please note: If any part of your trip includes the United States, please select it as your destination country. |

| Q7: How much does Atlas International cost? The cost of Atlas International varies based on several qualifying criteria, such as traveler’s age, duration or length of trip, selected coverage benefit limits, and the addition of additional coverage options (riders). Typically, Atlas International can cost about $3 a day for the duration of the trip for a person 50 years of age selecting International travel coverage area that does not include USA . |

| Q9: Why are there state restrictions and will it impact me if I visit one of those states? Each insurance company may have their own state-specific regulations on where plans can be sold. These state restrictions only impact residents from those specific states from purchasing these plans. However, if you are traveling to the United States, you will be covered in all 50 states during your active policy period. |
| Q10: Can I extend the plan, if I plan to stay longer? Yes, if you buy the plan initially for more than 5 days, you can extend the policy. It is recommended to extend the plan at least two days before the policy expires. There is be an $5 extension fee added to the premium for the additional days of coverage. The policy can be extended for up to a maximum of 365 days. |
| Q11: Can I cancel the plan, if I plan to go back earlier? Yes, you can cancel and get a refund for the Atlas International/America Plan, if you need to go back earlier than planned. The following rules apply: |
| Q12: Can I cancel only one person from the policy? You cannot remove one person from the policy if other travelers are included. We recommend letting the current policy lapse with all travelers or canceling and repurchasing for the remaining travelers as per the policy terms. |

| Q14: When will I receive my ID card? An email confirmation will be sent after purchase. The email will include links and instructions on how to access and print out your ID card. |
| Q15: Does Atlas International cover coronavirus? Atlas International can cover for COVID-19 and will be treated the same as any other eligible medical condition so long as the virus is contracted after the policy effective date and you have departed from the country of residence. | Q16: When I buy this plan, do I need to make the full payment at once or do I have the option of paying it on a monthly basis? Based on the desired coverage length you have selected, you have to make the full payment at once. Since this plan is renewable you can renew it anytime you would like to before the policy expires. There is a renewable fee of $5 that associated with the renewal. |
| Q17: Is there a waiting period for coverage to begin on my travel medical plan? Coverage will begin on the date selected and once the policyholder has left their home country. The policy will only cover for conditions that occur after the policy effective date. |
| Q18: I'm traveling to multiple countries and inputted all the destinations during the quoting process. Why does my policy documents only list one destination country? Only the primary destination in the application will be listed on the policy documents, but rest assured that all other eligible inputted countries will be covered during the active policy period. |
| Q19: When does my coverage start and end on my travel medical insurance plan? Coverage on the travel medical insurance plan will begin on the date of departure (12:01am EST) and once the traveler has left their home country. Coverage areas are anywhere outside one's' home country as long as the policy is active. The coverage will end immediately once the traveler has entered back into their home country and at 11:59pm EST on the last date of coverage |
| Q20: Is someone without a valid visa eligible for an Atlas plan? Yes, Atlas plans provide coverage to non-U.S. citizens regardless of visa status, as long as the applicant is a non-U.S. resident. To be eligible, the applicant must provide a residence address outside of the U.S. |
| Q21: Will my Atlas International plan be extended /renewed automatically? No, your Atlas International plan won't be extended or renewed automatically. You have to sign into your account online and activate the extension or renewal yourself. Not all plans are extendable or renewable, so be sure to review your policy terms and conditions for eligibility. |
| Q22: Does the Atlas International plan cover for the coronavirus vaccine/boosters? The Atlas International plan does not cover for the COVID-19 vaccine/booster, but will cover COVID-19 treatment and services the same as any other eligible condition if contracted after the policy effective date. Atlas International will only cover for COVID-19 testing if the policyholder is experiencing symptoms and the test is ordered by an attending physician for diagnostic purposes. | Q24: Does the Atlas International plan provide quarantine coverage? The Atlas International plan does not offer a quarantine benefit. Please review the policy documents for limits and exclusions. |
| Q25: Why do corrections take 3-5 business days and can't be a quick fix? The insurance provider recommends that you submit any correction requests in writing as your policy is a legally enforceable document. Following receipt of the correction, we send the request to the insurance provider; normally, the updates require 3-5 business days. They are processed in the order that they are received. We advise double-checking the information on the application before completing the purchase to prevent any errors and corrections. |
| Q26: What is the Personal Liability rider and what does it cover? The Personal Liability Benefit allows a policyholder to purchase an additional $90,000 in Personal Liability coverage. The rider must be purchased at the time of application. As Atlas Travel provides $10,000 in Personal Liability coverage in the base plan, purchasing this rider would increase the total Personal Liability benefit to $100,000 for only $0.35 / person / day. |
| Q27: What is Crisis Response Benefit Rider and what does it cover? The Crisis Response Rider allows a policyholder to purchase an additional $90,000 in Crisis Response coverage and must be purchased at the time of application. As Atlas Travel provides $10,000 in Crisis Response coverage in the base plan, purchasing this rider would increase the total Crisis Response benefit to $100,000 for only $1.40 / person / day. |
| Q28: What is the Personal Liability rider and what does it cover? The Accidental Death & Dismemberment rider is available for policyholders between the ages of 18 to 69 and must be purchased at the time of application. The rider increases the base amount of AD&D coverage in a policy. The AD&D benefit is not subject to the overall policy maximum. AD&D coverage provides benefits in the event of your death or loss of limb due to an accident. As Atlas Travel provides $25,000 in AD&D coverage to Members aged 18 to 69 in the base plan, this rider would increase the total AD&D benefit to $50,000 for only $0.35 / person / day. | Q34: What is the Air Doctor Benefit, and how does it work? The Air Doctor Benefit is a service that connects travelers with trusted medical professionals abroad, offering up to two cashless medical visits outside the U.S., if a $0 deductible option is selected upon checkout. Plans effective for more than six months are allocated three visits. |
