It is up to the attending physician to determine if a particular medical situation is related to pre-existing condition or not, and also if it would be considered as an acute onset or not. | Q3: What is an acute onset of pre-existing condition? An acute onset is a sudden unexpected outbreak or recurrence of a Pre-existing Condition which occurs spontaneously and without advance warning either in the form of Physician recommendations or symptoms, is of short duration. It has to be an acute medical condition that requires immediate medical attention. More conditions and restrictions apply. | Q9: Why are there state restrictions, and how will it affect me if I visit those states? Each insurance company may have state-specific regulations on where their plans can be sold, affecting only residents of those states. | Q10: Can I extend the plan, if I plan to stay longer? Yes, you can extend the policy. We recommend extending the plan at least two days before the policy expires. There would be an extra $5 extension fee. |
| Q11: Can I cancel the plan, if I plan to go back earlier? Yes, you can cancel and get a refund for the Patriot America Plus Plan, if you need to go back earlier than planned. The following rules apply: - Submit cancellation request through your account.
- If you cancel the policy before the start date, you are eligible for a full refund.
- If you cancel after the policy start date, you can get a refund only if no claims have been filed.
- $50 cancellation fee applies.

| Q20: When does my coverage start and end on my travel medical insurance plan? The travel medical insurance plan starts coverage on the date of departure (12:01 am EST) and once the traveler leaves their home country. Coverage applies if the initial destination country is the United States, and includes any subsequent travel to or within any of Canada, Mexico, Central America, Caribbean Islands, or South America as long the policy is active. Coverage ends immediately upon re-entry into the home country and at 12:01 am EST on the last coverage date. |
| Q21: Will my Patriot America Plus plan be extended /renewed automatically? No, your Patriot America Plus plan won't be extended or renewed automatically. You may sign into your account online and activate the extension or renewal yourself. | Q22: Does the Patriot America Plus plan cover for the coronavirus vaccine/boosters? This discount program is not insurance coverage. It is purely a discount program to purchasers of the Patriot travel plans. The Adventure Sports Rider offered in the Patriot America Plus plan is available for travelers up to the age of 65 and must be purchased at the time of application. The rider is designed to cover a policyholder while participating in the following activities if the activity is solely for leisure, recreation or entertainment purposes:abseiling, BMX; bobsledding; bungee jumping; canyoning; caving; hot air ballooning; jungle zip lining; parachuting; paragliding; parascending; rappelling; skydiving; spelunking; wildlife safaris; and windsurfing.
All such activities must be carried out in strict accordance with the rules, regulations and guidelines of the applicable Governing Body or Authority of each such activity.
