Safe Travels USA Comprehensive is an A rated comprehensive Travel Medical insurance plan that provides medical coverage and other covered travel and emergency services for visitors to the U.S during their travel and temporary stay outside of their home country. The coverage duration available is from 5 days to 364 days. While in the U.S, after the deductible is satisfied, the plan will pay up to 100% of eligible medical expenses until the policy maximum is reached. The Safe Travels USA Comprehensive plan is available for any non-US citizen or resident, including green card holders, visiting the USA for a short period of time. It is not available for US citizens, or long-term visa holders who pay taxes in the USA. |
| Q2: Are pre-existing conditions covered by the Safe Travels USA Comprehensive plan? Pre-existing conditions are not covered in the Safe Travels USA Comprehensive plan. However, it does cover for an acute onset of pre-existing conditions |
| Q3: What is an acute onset of pre-existing condition? An acute onset is a sudden unexpected outbreak or recurrence of a Pre-existing Condition which occurs spontaneously and without advance warning either in the form of Physician recommendations or symptoms, is of short duration. It has to be an acute medical condition that requires immediate medical attention. More conditions and restrictions apply. If you would like, you can choose to go in the PPO network for Safe Travels USA Comprehensive, which is the United Healthcare PPO Network. | Q5: Does this plan cover for a well visit check up? The Well Doctor Visit benefit included in the Safe Travels USA Comprehensive plan will cover a single visit for a routine health examination, unrelated to pre-existing conditions, up to $125. |

| Q7: How much does Safe Travels USA Comprehensive cost? The cost of Safe Travels USA Comprehensive varies based on several qualifying criteria, such as the traveler's age, duration or length of trip, selected coverage benefit limits, and the selection of additional riders. Typically, it can cost about $4 a day for a person 50 years of age, when selecting coverage area or destination of travel as the USA. |
| Q8: When I buy this plan, do I need to make the full payment at once or do I have the option of paying it on a monthly basis? Based on the desired coverage length you have selected, you have to make the full payment at the initial purchase. Since this plan is extendable you can extension it anytime you would like to before the policy expires. |

| Q10: Why are there state restrictions and will it impact me if I visit one of those states? Each insurance company may have their own state-specific regulations on where plans can be sold. These state restrictions only impact residents from those specific states from purchasing these plans. However, if you are traveling to the United States, you will be covered in all 50 states during your active policy period. |
| Q11: Can I extend the plan, if I plan to stay longer? Yes, if you buy the plan initially for more than 5 days, you can extend the policy. You would need to extend the plan at least two days before the policy expires. |
| Q12: Can I cancel the plan, if I plan to go back earlier? Yes, you can cancel and get a refund for the Safe Travels USA Comprehensive Plan, if you need to go back earlier than planned. The following rules apply: |
| Q13: Can I cancel only one person from the policy? You cannot remove one person from the policy if other travelers are included. We recommend letting the current policy lapse with all travelers or canceling and repurchasing for the remaining travelers as per the policy terms. |
| Q14: What information do I need to buy the plan? You will need names, coverage duration, date(s) of birth, home country address, and a valid credit card. |
| Q15: When will I receive my ID card? You can print out your ID card from your confirmation e-mail and it will be used as proof of insurance. Nothing is sent to the mailing address in the home country. |
| Q16: What if I am traveling to multiple countries, will I be covered? Coverage will be provided in all eligible countries visited with the exception of your Home Country and any restricted countries listed in the policy documentation. Coverage will only be offered within the policy start and end dates. Please note: If any part of your trip includes the United States, please select it as your destination country. |

Safe Travels USA Comprehensive can cover for COVID-19 and will be treated the same as any other eligible medical condition so long as the virus is contracted after the policy effective date and you have departed from the country of residence. | Q18: Is there a waiting period for coverage to begin on my travel medical plan? Coverage will begin on the date selected and once the policyholder has left their home country. The policy will only cover for conditions that occur after the policy effective date. |
| Q19: I'm traveling to multiple countries and inputted all the destinations during the quoting process. Why does my policy documents only list one destination country? Only the primary destination in the application will be listed on the policy documents, but rest assured that all other eligible inputted countries will be covered during the active policy period. |
| Q20: When does my coverage start and end on my travel medical insurance plan? Coverage on the travel medical insurance plan will begin on the date of departure (12:01am CST) and once the traveler has left their home country. Coverage areas are anywhere outside one's' home country as long as the policy is active. The coverage will end immediately once the traveler has entered back into their home country and at 12:01am CST the day after the last date of coverage. |
| Q21: Will my Safe Travels USA Comprehensive plan be extended /renewed automatically? No, your Safe Travels USA Comprehensive plan won't be extended or renewed automatically. You have to sign into your account online and activate the extension or renewal yourself. Not all plans are extendable or renewable, so be sure to review your policy terms and conditions for eligibility. |

If your school or educational program does not any have specific health insurance requirements to meet, this plan can offer short-term health insurance coverage while you are abroad. It is important to confirm with the school or educational program to ensure that any short-term health insurance plan will be accepted by them. |
| Q26: Why do corrections take 3-5 business days and can't be a quick fix? The insurance provider recommends that you submit any correction requests in writing as your policy is a legally enforceable document. Following receipt of the correction, we send the request to the insurance provider; normally, the updates require 3-5 business days. They are processed in the order that they are received. We advise double-checking the information on the application before completing the purchase to prevent any errors and corrections. |

Adventure or extreme sports like skiing, sky diving, mountain biking, rafting, etc are not covered in the Safe Travels USA Comprehensive Plan. | Q29: What is the AD&D Upgrade rider and what does it cover? The optional AD&D Upgrade allows you the flexibility to increase your AD&D coverage limits if you choose. This can be purchased with an additional premium at the time of purchase. |
| Q30: What is the Return to Home Country Coverage rider and what does it cover? The optional return to home country coverage benefit can cover you for incidental trips back to your home country. The insured must return to the destination country in order for the policy to remain active. This can be purchased with an additional premium at the time of purchase. |
| Q31: Can I purchase the policy after I arrive at my destination? Yes, you may purchase the policy even after the traveler has entered their destination country. The policy must be purchased within 364 days of your arrival. Eligible benefits and coverage will begin after the policy’s effective start date. |
| Q32: Why is my premium $10 when the daily rate calculated is less? To purchase a Safe Travels USA Comprehensive policy, the minimum premium must be at least $10. If your total premium for the duration of coverage is $7, you will be charged $10 to meet the requirement.
